At stro.archi, we design and build with the earth, for the earth.
Our studio is rooted in the principles of sustainability, tradition, and regional identity—drawing inspiration from the wisdom of vernacular building techniques while embracing contemporary ecological innovation.

The name stro recalls both straw in English and Stroh in German—a reminder of one of humanity’s oldest and most renewable building materials. Straw embodies our philosophy: simple, local, organic, and resilient. Like straw in a thatched roof or pressed into bales, it connects people to place and creates architecture that breathes with its environment.

We believe buildings should:

  • Belong to their region, using local resources, crafts, and cultural traditions.

  • Nourish rather than deplete, working in harmony with natural cycles and ecosystems.

  • Last through generations, balancing durability with adaptability.

  • Be beautiful in their honesty, celebrating the textures of wood, earth, stone, and straw.

Our work bridges the ancestral and the modern: respecting the traditional knowledge of regional architecture while integrating organic design principles and sustainable technologies. Each project is an invitation to live more closely with nature—where architecture is not just shelter, but a way of caring for the land and the community.

stro.archi is more than a studio. It is a commitment to building a future where tradition and ecology grow together, rooted in the places we call home.
